Phillips Milk of Magnesia Liquid (magnesium hydroxide) is used to relieve indigestion, excess acid and wind, heartburn, and stomach discomfort. It can also be used as a laxative to relieve constipation.

How To Use
Shake well before use. Milk of Magnesium can be taken with water or milk if desired. Additional liquid should be taken during use.
Take one or two 5 ml spoonfuls (first or second line in dosing cup): Repeat as necessary to a maximum of twelve 5 ml spoonfuls (60 ml) in 24 hours.
Give one 5 ml spoonfuls (first line in dosing cup). Repeat as necessary to a maximum of six 5 ml spoonfuls (30 ml) in 24 hours.
As recommended by your doctor.
Take six to nine 5 ml spoonfuls (30-45 ml measured in dosing cup) at bedtime. Repeat Nightly reducing dose until constipation is relieved.
Give one to two 5ml spoonfuls (first or second line in dosing cup) at bedtime.

Drug Interaction Precautions :
If a laxative dose is needed every day or if there is persistent abdominal pain, consult your doctor. Do not exceed the stated dose. Overdosage may cause diarrhoea. If this occurs, stop using and see your doctor.
Do not take if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients listed.
Consult Your Doctor:
The recommended daily adult dose contains 1.5 to 3 g of glycerol.
This can cause a headache or stomach upset and diarrhoea. If you are concerned about this, or any other unwanted effects, stop using and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Keep safely away from children
Magnesium Hydroxide 415 mg, Sodium hydrogen carbonate, oil of peppermint, glycerol, sodium saccharin, and purified water.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
– Hypermagnesemia (increased amounts of magnesium in your blood). This was seen after
prolonged administration to patients with kidney problems.
Unknown side effects (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
– Abdominal pain including colic.
– Diarrhoea
